Kulmbach Spartan Trifecta Weekend 2023

For the second time the world largest series of obstacle racing is returning to the city of Kulmbach.

The kids make the start with the VR Bank Kids Race on Friday in three different distances (3200 m, 1600 m and 800 m). On Saturday it continues with the Beast (Elite/AG/Open Heat) over 21 km and 30 obstacles and followed by a Sprint Open Heat at noon. Funkhaus Kulmbach also invites you to the Radio Galaxy Party at EKU Square, before the Super (Elite/AG/Open Heat) on the last day brings the long-awaited weekend to an end.

Saturday 17th of June the first heat will start for the Spartan Beast in the city center of Kulmbach. This course is true to all the values of the Beast, awaiting with a half marathon distance full of 30 challenging obstacles through the elements water, mud, fire and sand. Demanding elevations and routes on the so called “Frankenwald Steigla” are well known in the trail running community already and form a very special challenge in combination with the obstacles.

In the afternoon the Spartan Sprint with 5 kilometres and 20 obstacles is just perfect for New-Spartans to gain their first Spartan experience and get infected by the enthusiasm, passion and community vibe of the Spartan family. This urban course with views from the Plassenburg can be finished on your own but also great as a team. Together as a strong team everybody can manage the course no matter what performance level.

Sunday is Super day. 10 kilometers and 25 obstacles are waiting for the last heats on this Trifecta Weekend. For everybody that has finished a sprint or other 10 K runs an absolut “must”. It is the race with the biggest fun factor and the location is talking for itself in the Frankenwald: awesome trails are guaranteed.
